MEET YOUR EXECUTIVE BOARD
ABBY CZAJA - INTERIM PRESIDENT
Abby and her family have lived in Rockton for the past 11 years. She has a sixth grader, fourth grader, and second grader. Her husband, Kris, is an engineer at Ingersoll Machine Tools and she runs a virtual office management company out of their home and also works part-time as a group fitness instructor at NorthPointe Wellness. She is also a substitute for District 140. Abby received her MSW from U of I Champaign-Urbana and was a Child and Adolescent Therapist for many years before making the decision to work from home and raise her children. She has served on boards for the Student Chapter of the National Association of Social Work and the U of I Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Abby has served in the role of PTO President for the last 4 years and is excited to remain on the Board with the focus on continuing to provide valuable experiences for our District families and staff, as well as promote an impact on the community at large. |
SARAH GORANSON - VICE PRESIDENT
Sarah moved to Roscoe in 2019. She has a daughter in the district and has been volunteering to get to know the school and community. It brings her joy to help and serve. She has worked remotely for DeVry University for the past 5 years, which allows for flexibility and good home life balance. Sarah is up for adventures, games, loves photography, and spending time with family and friends. She is eager to learn and take on this new role to make a good impact and create wonderful moments for the Rockton School District. |
LAUREN ANDERSON - TREASURER
Lauren graduated from Boylan Catholic High School. She is a stay at home mom to two beautiful girls. Riley (6) is in First Grade at RGS and Hailey (3) is in Pre-K 3 at Old Stone Preschool. Her husband, Kyle, graduated from Harlem High School and attended Carthage College in Kenosha. He is the President at AW Anderson Insurance Agency, a family-owned business in Loves Park. They lived in Loves Park before building their house in Rockton in 2017 which brought them to the town that they always wanted to raise their family in. They love the small town and the great school district. As a stay at home mom, Lauren is excited to be involved in the school district as much as possible. She served on the Board for one year as the Rockton Grade School Parent Rep and is now looking forward to taking on the role of Treasurer. |
KELLY BRADBURY - SECRETARY
Kelly and her husband moved to Rockton in 2012. They have a third grader and a second grader in the district. Kelly works full time as a Service Coordinator for United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Dane County in Rock County for the Birth to three program. It is a program for children with delays or disabilities in their development to provide services and transition to the local school districts. Her husband, Joe, works at Ecolab in town. He is a former chef with 26 years of experience. Kelly joined the PTO to become more involved in her children's school experience. |
BRITTANY WELSH - CO-DIRECTOR OF PR
Brittany and her family moved to Rockton from Chicago in the spring of 2020. She is happily married with three wonderful daughters. Having grown up in Rockford and with many of her family nearby, Rockton has been a perfect fit for Brittany and her family. Brittany’s has two daughters in the District, Emma who is in second grade and Penelope who is in kindergarten. She also recently had her third child, daughter Riley. Brittany works part-time in catering at Countryside Meats and Deli and is a passionate baker. Brittany became involved with the PTO when Emma first started at Rockton Grade, and she loves being able to be more involved with the school district and the Rockton community. |
NANCY GERUE - DIRECTOR OF FUNDRAISING
Nancy grew up in the Rockton community and graduated from Hononegah High School. She has a sixth grade daughter and a son in 2nd grade. Her husband, Brett, works as a Field Rep for the FOP Labor Council and she has been a hairstylist for the past 21 years and currently works at Frillz Hair Salon. She also is a health coach and loves helping clients achieve their health goals!! Nancy is excited to reach out to families and teachers and bring them together to make the best memories for our children. She enjoys helping this amazing district and organization give back to the students, faculty and community! |
WHITNEY MAYFIELD - RGS PARENT REP
Whitney graduated from Rockford Public Schools and has her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. After teaching preschool for a few years, she became a Developmental Therapist in Early Intervention. Whitney enjoyed collaborating with families to help their children bridge the gap in developmental delays and transition to preschool. She is currently taking a break to be a stay at home mom. Her husband, Shawn, graduated from Hononegah and is the Director of Tax at ABC Supply Co in Beloit. They have two wild and sweet boys, one in kindergarten at RGS and one in preschool at a private school. Whitney loves being involved with her boys’ schools and activities, and is looking forward to being part of Rockton’s energetic PTO! |
HILLARY FLEMING - WPES PARENT REP
Hillary grew up in the Rockton Area and is a graduate of the Rockton Schools. She and her husband have 4 children: a seventh grader at SMMS, a fourth grader at WPES, a second grader at RGS, and a 1 year old at home. Hillary received her Bachelor's Degree from U of I Champaign-Urbana. She has worked in Human Resources for the past 12 years and currently works part-time as a recruiter in healthcare. Her job allows her the flexibility to stay home with her children and help out with great organizations like the PTO. Hillary enjoys serving the local community and creating fun memories for the students. |
CINDY ZEITER - SMMS PARENT REP
Cindy and her family moved to the Rockton area in 2014. She grew up in the Rockford area, while her husband was raised in Dekalb. She is the mother to five children and has two spunky grandchildren! She owns Meraki Salon +Studio in Roscoe with her oldest daughter Bri, and is involved in helping many organizations in the local area! Cindy has always loved to be a part of what is going on in her children’s schools and helping to make a good impact for all the children at the schools! She is excited to once again be the parent rep for SMMS. |
KAITLYN FEEHAN - RGS TEACHER REP
Kaitlyn is one of the teacher representatives for RGS. She is excited for the future of the PTO as a teacher. Kaitlyn has taught Kindergarten at Rockton Grade School for her entire teaching career. Every year, she falls more and more in love with Kindergarten, her school, and the district. The PTO has always held a special place in her heart, as she sees all of their hard work and dedication they have displayed towards the schools and their students. Kaitlyn and her husband have a dog who is their world and enjoy finding new brunch spots during the weekend. She feels honored to have the opportunity to represent RGS as a teacher and cannot wait to experience the joy that will come with supporting the PTO from the inside! |
JAMISE ROBERTS - RGS TEACHER REP
Jamise and her family have lived in Rockton for the past 9 years. Both her and her husband, Jake, grew up in the area. Their daughter is a student at WPES. After being a parent of RGS, she dreamed of joining the amazing staff. In 2022, that dream came true. This will be her 14th year teaching but her first year teaching Kindergarten at RGS. She is so excited to be both a teacher and parent of this wonderful community! |
KRISTIN FISH - WPES TEACHER REP
Kristin grew up in the Rockton community and loves all of the full circle moments that happen as a result of living and now working in our small town community. She is a graduate of Hononegah High School, Carthage College (Bachelor’s) and St.Xavier University (Master’s). She taught for 10 years in Lake Geneva, took a few years off to stay home with kids, then entered back into the schools as a substitute, paraprofessional, and now a 5th Grade teacher. She has taught Fifth Grade for 14 years and has loved every minute! Her husband works for Winnebago County and her kids attend Whitman Post and Hononegah. She thinks it’s so fun to work in the same school as her child and has a lot to add to the PTO because she can relate as a mom and teacher. She is excited to be a part of the promising future of the Rockton PTO! |
JIMMY IVACIC - SMMS TEACHER REP
Jimmy grew up in the Rockford area and attended RPS. He graduated from the University of Iowa and later attended Rockford University for his Master’s degree. He first started teaching at Rockford Auburn High School teaching Biology, World History, and U.S. History. He then spent time teaching 2nd and 4th grade in the South Beloit School District, before moving to Belvidere South Middle School in order to teach 6th grade Science and 7th grade Science for 14 years. He is new to SMMS as an 8th grade Reading teacher. Jimmy’s wife also works in education and his children are currently attending Rockton Grade School and Whitman Post. Jimmy is happy to be in the same district as the rest of his family and is looking forward to being a part of the PTO. |
MARK SCHROEDER - SMMS TEACHER REP
Mark has taught in the Rockton School District for 19 years. His first 11 years were at Whitman Post as a 5th grade teacher. He is starting his 9th year at Stephen Mack teaching 6th grade math and science. Both his son and daughter went through the Rockton schools. He enjoys boating, fishing, and traveling with his wife and kids. He spent 5 years of active duty in the Air Forces and another 5 years in the Air National Guard out of Madison. He looks forward to serving the PTO as a teacher representative. |
MEGAN FORSYTHE - ADMINISTRATIVE REP
Megan has been in education for 22 years - 13 years spent teaching middle school math before becoming the principal at Whitman Post Elementary School where she has been for the last 9 years. Both of her sons have attended the Rockton schools. Mrs. Forsythe enjoys birds, yoga, and spending time with her friends and family. She loves being part of the Rockton community and is honored to serve as the administrative representative. |
